Machining mechanic
As a machinist, you will manufacture high-precision metal components and use state-of-the-art CNC technology to ensure that every dimension is spot on.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Machining mechanics produce precision components for machines, such as trapezoidal or ball screws. They primarily work with CNC-controlled milling, turning, grinding, and whirling machines, which they program and adjust to ensure maximum efficiency and quality. In the event of malfunctions, they analyze the cause using established testing procedures and resolve the problem. They are also responsible for the regular inspection and maintenance of the machines.
1ST YEAR OF APPRENTICESHIP
Manufacturing simple assemblies using:
- hand-guided tools
- engine lathes
2ND YEAR OF APPRENTICESHIP
- Manufacturing complex assemblies
- Maintaining and inspecting machine tools
- Commissioning control systems such as Siemens, Heidenhain & Mazatrol
- Programming & manufacturing with numerically controlled turning & milling machines
3RD & 4TH YEAR OF APPRENTICESHIP
- Manufacturing assemblies in production
- Planning and organizing computer-aided manufacturing, such as Top Solid 7
- Preparing & executing individual production orders
- Organizing & monitoring production processes in series production
Academic & Personal Requirements
- Minimum requirement: Secondary school leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss) with a grade of 2 in Mathematics, Physics, and Technology
- High level of diligence and sense of responsibility, especially when setting up machining equipment
- Manual dexterity, precision, and good spatial awareness, as well as an exact way of working & technical understanding
- Keen powers of observation & intuition when performing machining processes
- Strong technical understanding, particularly for setup, maintenance, and repair tasks
- Physical resilience for processing demanding components
- Communication skills, teamwork & independence
Further Education Opportunities
Further education opportunities range from Master Craftsman and Technician to Business Administrator or a university degree, offering diverse chances for professional development. Within the company, you also have the opportunity to actively shape your career and reach new positions.
Internships
At Kammerer Gewindetechnik, you also have the opportunity to complete an internship before starting your apprenticeship to gain valuable insights into the working world. During the internship, you will have the chance to gain practical experience in various areas of machining. You will be primarily supported by our training manager, Thomas Schlaps.

What is the interview process like?
After we receive your application, we will usually contact you within a week. In this initial phone call, we want to give you the opportunity to ask us questions, and we will schedule a date for a personal interview. During the interview, we will discuss your background and give you an initial insight into our company.
The personal interview serves to get to know each other better, discuss your qualifications and experience in more detail, and find out if your expectations align with the requirements of the apprenticeship. This is not just about technical skills, but also about how well you might fit into the team and the corporate culture.
If there is continued interest and the exchange is positive, we will then invite you to a tour of the facility. This allows you to get to know our working environment and the colleagues on-site, so you can get an even better picture of our company.
What happens after the interview?
After the interview and the facility tour, we take time to reflect on all impressions and make a decision. Final feedback and the decision regarding an offer usually occur within one month. During this time, we remain available for any further questions and will keep you informed about the next steps in the selection process.
