Double wiper

The double wiper consists of two sealing lips arranged one behind the other, usually made of plastic or elastomers.
The outer sealing lip removes coarse particles such as dust or chips from the spindle surface. The inner sealing lips, on the other hand, retain finer particles as well as liquids (e.g. coolant lubricant) and ensure that the lubricant remains in the ball nut.
The double sealing provides enhanced protection, even in harsh environments, which is significantly higher than with a single wiper. Nevertheless, it should not be overlooked that the additional sealing lip results in a slightly higher no-load torque.

Areas of application

  • Machine tools with high chip and coolant lubricant exposure
  • Applications in automation and robotics, where long maintenance intervals are required
  • Heavy-duty applications where maximum reliability is required.
