As the nut moves linearly, dirt is scraped away from the spindle surface. At the same time, the lubricant is retained within the ball screw drive, thereby extending its service life.  <\/p>\n\n<p>As it is made of plastic, the scraper is lightweight and inexpensive to manufacture. Furthermore, the relatively soft plastic ensures low friction. As it contains no metal, the plastic scraper is corrosion-resistant.
