They are among the oldest and most reliable conveying technologies in industry. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Operating Principle<\/h2>\n\n<p>A screw conveyor essentially consists of:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a rotating shaft with a helical flight (screw),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a tube or trough in which the screw rotates,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a drive that sets the screw in rotation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The rotational movement continuously pushes the material along the axis of the screw. Depending on the design, this can occur horizontally, inclined, or vertically. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Areas of Application<\/h2>\n\n<p>Screw conveyors are used wherever powdery, granular, or pasty materials need to be transported, metered, or mixed.
